"SAFE HAVEN" SHELTERING FOR YOUR PET

Maintaining confidentiality is an important issue when working with the pets of domestic violence survivors.  Representatives from the SHARP Network will work directly with the emergency shelter advocate.  Due to space constraints at many emergency shelters, on-site animal shelters are usually not feasible.  During the initial stage of assisting with pets, SHARP will work with the emergency shelter to seek temporary housing at a location that will accommodate both you and your pet(s).  Prior to that, it may be in the best interest of your pets to stay with trusted family or friends
